SHANGHAI: The Skyline Of Modern Shanghai

Shanghai is really loud. The horns and the traffic woke me up, almost every single morning. Ok, maybe it was also the weather, as it was still very warm for October, with 34 degrees. The air is very dry though and that's what you realise after you've spent a few days over there.

Right, one of the first things I wanted to see was the beautiful skyline, the Bund. One skyscraper stands next to each other, with their unbelievable height and brillance.

We decided to go on top of the Shanghai World Financial Centre, which has a funny shape like a bottle opener, but my favourite tower is the Pearls tower with its beautiful magenta colour and unique shape. We went to the 94th, 97th and 100th floor - which is amazing cos it has a glass floor where you can look down and see the Jin Mao tower next to it.

Go and have a drink there in the bar and watch the sunset and don't miss the view from the toilet! The toilets are in fact multi-functional, allowing you to choose should you wish to warm up your bum!

For some reason they switch off the lights of the towers around 10 pm. Unfortunately I could not make it to the sightseeing tunnel of the Bund by night, as they also close around that time. Besides that, Shanghai has loads of good rooftop bars from which you can enjoy a view of Shanghai, such as the Mint Club which has a baby shark tank. The cocktails are delicious and the view beautiful.

Further recommendations: House of Roosevelt, Cloud 9, Vue Bar at the Hyatt on the Bund, el Cóctel.
