We also went for a bit of a different dinner. The restaurant Baoluo Jiulou, is close to Fumin Road and had just Chinese customers. The waiter shows you your seat and wants you to order straight away. They stand at your table and give you hardly time to look through the menu. And you must know, the menu is just in Chinese but luckily has pictures in it. If you are very lucky you have English titles. Some of them are very oddly translated and you can enjoy looking through the menu.
So finally we ordered jellyfish with a brown sauce, lung of "an animal" (with chili and coriander) cos they could not explain to us which one it is and pretty awful tasting shrimps. After trying it, I would not recommend the jellyfish as it is not delicious at all and has a hard surface. The lunge though was nice thanks to the additional ingredients.
When you want to ask for the bill, you literally have to shout "Fuyuen" so that you get the waiter's attention. The waiters did not speak any English, so my basic Chinese was quite helpful but I forgot my dictionary.
